99.99% pure xenon gas

When sufficient amount of energy is supplied to an atom or ion, typically through electrical excitation, or other forms of energy input, its electrons can be promoted to higher energy levels, resulting in an excited state. This excitation can occur in various ways, such as through collision with other particles, absorption of photons, or exposure to a high energy electrical field. In the case of xenon gas, when high voltage is applied across the gas it ionizes, and the resulting positive xenon ions become excited. As these excited ions re-combine with electrons and transition back to lower energy levels, they omit photons of specific wavelengths. In other words, as the Xe ions recover their missing electron to return to their ground state they emit a photon. In the case of Xenon the emission is brilliant blue colour. Can’t wait to do some experiments wit…
